What happened

Half-time 1–2, Krithik on the scoresheet; the second half slipped away 0–3.
In a strange way the best match of the tournament for the boys — a real test against a side that knew exactly what it wanted.
They lost badly, but these are exactly the kind of games I want them to play.
Our boys looked lost at times — they couldn't pass, receive the ball, or convert good chances.
Full credit to the opponents for a very good, aggressive performance.
I'm sure they'll come back hard and put their best into the games ahead.

Challenges & difficulties

•We missed our defender Sky (Ayaansh), out with a high fever last week.
•Our regular goalkeeper wasn't there, so Gaurav kept goal for most of the game.
•Gaurav and Avyaan were tired after a one-day tournament the night before that ran to 10 PM — home only by 10:30.
•Avyaan was always going to struggle: injuries from yesterday, a stomach bug that morning, and a 7:30 AM practice match at Sporthood already in his legs.

Whatever our reasons, we wanted a loss to get the boys a little more serious — and now the tournament looks alive. Nice to see what they do next.
