The KSFA Youth Cup is a Karnataka State Football Association youth cup at U-11. Avyaan played with a brand-new Sporthood U-11 group, up against older, bigger sides.

This cup was played before the final 15–16 of the squad had even been settled. Avyaan’s side was a brand-new U-11 group — all 2016-17 boys, part familiar (plenty he’d trained and played with at Sporthood and the Coco Cup) and part newcomers who’d never played together. It showed.
A separate, older Sporthood batch — the ones moving up to U-13 — went on to win the tournament. For Avyaan’s young group, it was good exposure and an honest reality check on where they stood.
For Avyaan, up an age and up a size, the intent didn’t drop — two assists in the first game, one in the last, and chances the team couldn’t take. The goals column stayed at zero. Everything else said keep going.

I’ll be honest — I came away disappointed, wondering if this was the team he’d be with all season. Afterwards the coach told me to give them two or three months: they’ll build a good team. Sometimes the job is just to trust that, and wait.
